The Hùng Kings’ Temple Festival or Hung King’s Anniversary (Vietnamese: Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương or Lễ hội đền Hùng) is a Vietnamese festival held annually from the 1st to the 10th day of the third lunar month in honor of the Hùng Vương or Hùng King. The main festival day, which is a public holiday in Vietnam since 2007, is on the 10th day.
Although the official name is the Hung King’s Anniversary (Vietnamese: Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương), the festival does not mark any specific date of death for any Hùng King.

Artisan Ho Dac Shao Anh, Deputy Director of UNESCO Vietnam Culinary Culture Center, said that there are currently many food festivals held in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City as well as localities across the country. However, in order to promote culinary culture, festivals need to focus on both the “ceremony” and the “festival” part.
Representative of the organizing committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhut, Deputy Director of Saigon Zoo, said that the festival “Flavors of 3 regions” is a cozy cultural space, converging the culinary quintessence of 3 regions of the North, Central and South, combining meaningful activities towards the roots of the nation.
On this occasion, in addition to enjoying delicacies 3 regions, people of Ho Chi Minh City can experience making Bat Trang ceramics, making rice paper, Wicker grass, making traditional cake, ka Tum leaf cake package of Khmer people… at the entrance area.
Phu Tho, the birthplace of the Vietnamese nation, is proud to be the place to celebrate the Hung King’s Anniversary- an important holiday for the people of the country and overseas people to pay tribute to the merits of their ancestors.

The ceremony consists of: the anniversary of the German fatherland of Lac Long Quan and the incense of Au Co Monument on 03/4/2025 (i.e. the 6/3 year of Ty Ty); the anniversary of Hung Vuong and the flower at the relief “Uncle Ho speaks with the officers and soldiers of the Pioneer army” on 07/4/2025 (i.e. the 10/3 year of Ty Ty); the incense ceremony commemorates the Hung Kings of districts, towns and cities in the province from 29/3 – 02/4/2025 (i.e. from the 1 – 5/3 year of jealousy).
